How Much Does a Business Website Cost in India?

How Much Does a Business Website Cost in India?

You run a small shop, a clinic or a consulting practice, and three different people have quoted you three different prices for "a website": ₹6,000, ₹28,000 and ₹1.2 lakh. None of them explained why. That gap is what this article is about.

We'll walk through what actually moves the price of a business website in India, using our own package prices as the reference. You won't need to agree with our numbers, but you should leave knowing which questions to ask any developer.

What a business website really costs: the three usual bands

Most small-business sites fall into three bands, and the difference is mostly pages, content management and how much custom design work goes in.

BandWhat it usually coversOur price and timeline
Starter3 pages, contact form, mobile responsive, 1 revision₹15,000, 5 days
Standard5 pages, CMS, basic SEO, contact and newsletter forms, 3 revisions₹25,000, 7 days
Premium10 pages, custom animations, advanced SEO, CMS and blog, unlimited revisions, 1 month support₹45,000, 12 days

Those are the packages we call Starter Site, Business Pro and Business Elite. The prices in the ₹6,000 range you may have seen usually mean a pre-made template with your logo dropped in. That can be fine for a one-page "we exist" site. It's rarely fine if you expect customers to find and trust you.

Where the money actually goes

Pages and content

Every page needs a purpose, text and usually photos. A page that exists only because "websites have an About page" costs you money and gives visitors nothing. Most local businesses need a home page, services, about, contact, and one page that proves you're good at what you do.

A CMS, or no CMS

A content management system lets you change text, prices and photos yourself without calling a developer. If your offers change monthly, you want one. If your site will say the same thing for two years, a static site is cheaper and faster. We'd rather tell you that than sell you a CMS you'll never open.

Design effort

Custom animations and bespoke layouts take real hours. They look good, but they don't automatically bring in enquiries. Spend there only after the basics (clear text, fast loading, an obvious call button) are done.

SEO groundwork

"Basic SEO" should at least mean proper page titles, descriptions, headings and a sitemap. It doesn't mean you'll rank on page one. Nobody honest can promise that.

Add-ons that change the final bill

Most people budget for the package and forget the extras. These are our listed add-ons:

  • Extra page: ₹3,000 each, about 2 extra days
  • Live chat integration: ₹2,500, 1 day
  • Blog setup: ₹5,000, 3 days

Say you pick the 5-page package at ₹25,000 and then realise you need a gallery page, a pricing page and a blog. That's ₹25,000 plus ₹6,000 plus ₹5,000, so ₹36,000, and you're now close to the 10-page package at ₹45,000, which already includes a blog. Do this arithmetic before you order, not after.

What you should prepare before you start

Delivery days only hold if you send things on time. Most delays on projects like this come from the client side, not the developer's.

  1. Your logo in a usable format (if you don't have one, sort that first).
  2. A list of the pages you want and a few lines of text for each.
  3. 10 to 15 real photos of your work, premises or team. Stock photos make a local business look like a franchise.
  4. Your GST number, address, phone and WhatsApp number exactly as you want them shown.
  5. Two or three websites you like, and one you don't.
  6. Domain and hosting details, if you already own them.

Common mistakes that cost more than they should

  • Buying the cheapest quote with no revision terms. Ask how many rounds of changes are included. Our Starter package includes 1, Business Pro 3, and Elite is unlimited.
  • Paying for 10 pages when you have content for 4. Empty pages hurt more than missing ones.
  • Not owning your domain. Make sure the domain is registered in your name, not the developer's.
  • Ignoring mobile. Most of your visitors will open the site from a phone, often from a WhatsApp link. Test it on a mid-range Android, not just your own laptop.
  • Skipping a clear contact route. A click-to-call and WhatsApp button on every page often matters more than the fancy hero banner.

Who this is for, and who it isn't

A custom-built business website suits shops, professionals, small manufacturers and service companies who want customers to find them, read about them and get in touch. It's not the right tool if you want to sell 200 products online (look at an e-commerce store instead) or if you need user accounts and dashboards (that's a custom web tool). If you only need a page to share on Instagram, a free link page may be enough.

How we handle this at DegitalService

We offer the three packages above, and the prices and timelines on our site are the ones we work to. You pick a package, send us your content, and we build to the number of revisions that package includes. If something is out of scope, we tell you the add-on price before doing the work. You can see the full details on the Business Website service page, or place an order directly. If you're unsure which package fits, send us a message with your business type and the pages you think you need, and we'll tell you honestly whether you're overbuying.

Frequently asked questions

Is the domain and hosting included in the website price?

Treat them as separate costs unless your quote says otherwise. Ask for the domain to be registered in your name and for hosting renewal costs to be stated upfront.

How long does a business website take to build?

Our packages run from 5 to 12 days depending on size. Add the time you take to send content, since late text and photos are the usual reason projects slip.

Do I need a CMS for a small business website?

Only if you'll change content often, like offers, prices or blog posts. If the site rarely changes, you can save money without one.

Will the website bring me customers on its own?

Not automatically. A good site makes it easy for people to trust you and contact you, but traffic comes from search, Google Business Profile, WhatsApp and referrals working together.
